The Nelson Project (TNP) is Yukon’s only organization dedicated to supporting at-risk men. Our mandate is to support long-term recovery through relationships, not programs. TNP is a member-driven organization - men uplifting and supporting each other for positive change in a non-judgemental environment.
Who We Are
Our Relationship Statement
We all hurt. Some of us more than others.
We acknowledge that broken relationships are the root cause of the pain we feel, and the harmful strategies we use to cope with that pain: self-isolation, self-medication, blame, violence and ultimately, suicide.
We fully embrace one main idea. If broken relationships are the problem, whole relationships will be our solution. Respectful relationships that strike a fair balance between love and accountability.
As members of the Nelson Project, we have chosen to build relationships with each other as our pathway to recovery, wellbeing and success (individually and as a community).
What Sets Us Apart
TNP is Yukon’s only organization specifically dedicated to meeting the needs of at-risk men. There is no voluntary, long-term support system for at-risk men in The Yukon
We help foster positive life change and recovery through building healthy, respectful, and mutually uplifting relationships - rather than delivering a program through a service provider and client dynamic
