Karen is a born and raised Yukoner and a citizen of the Carcross Tagish First Nation. Growing up she was always told to do your best and to help others. Karen’s work experience is primarily in the field of finance. She has worked with the Yukon Indian Arts & Crafts Co-op, Skookum Jim Friendship Centre, Council of Yukon First Nations and currently works at the Yukon First Nation Chamber of Commerce. Karen is also Treasurer for the CTFN Daanaa Jili (cache) Trust , Dakhka Khwaan Dancers, Yukon First Nations Graduation Society, and Trustee for the Yukon First Nation Languages Trust and Governance Council for the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Society. Karen also has past involvement with Polarettes Gymnastics Club, Dreamcatcher Yukon Society and Yukon Indigenous Games Steering Committee (now the Yukon Aboriginal Sports Circle) as Treasurer.
